How to use Benostar Mouthwash

Check the label before use. Take the mouthwash in the quantity advised by your doctor and put it in your mouth. Swish for 30 seconds to 1 minute and spit it. Do not swallow. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after rinsing.

How Benostar Mouthwash works

Benostar Mouthwash is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the mouth.

What if you forget to take Benostar Mouthwash?

If you miss a dose of Benostar Mouthwash, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

• Benostar Mouthwash is used to relieve pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) of the mouth, gums, and throat.
• It is meant for mouth rinsing or gargling only. Spit the rinse out after use, do not swallow it.
• It should generally be used undiluted. If it makes your mouth sting, you can dilute it with an equal volume of water before use.
• Try not to eat any hard food if you had dental surgery, as pain might increase and lead to increased discomfort. Eat liquid food for some days to get early relief from pain.
• Don't eat foods or drink beverages with a lot of sugar as they may cause tooth decay.
• Brush your teeth 2 or 3 times a day for 2 to 3 minutes every time. Preferably use a toothbrush with soft bristles to avoid bleeding from gums. Also, the toothbrush should be air-dried to avoid any infection.
• If you have bad mouth sores, avoid a toothbrush and use a solution to brush.
• Avoid getting it in your eyes. If you accidentally get it in your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
• Do not use it for more than seven days, unless otherwise advised by your doctor.

Indications of Benostar Mouthwash

Benostar Mouth Wash 120 ml is in a class of medications known as 'pain relievers,' also known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory agents. It includes Benzydamine, which is most commonly used to alleviate pain, discomfort, and inflammation of the mouth, gums, and throat. It is used to treat oral mucositis (radiation-induced oral ulceration), mouth sores, mouth ulcers, pain after dental surgery, and discomfort caused by dentures. It provides relief from pain and swelling and aids in speeding up the healing process.

Pharmacology of Benostar 250ml Mouthwash

Benzydamine Hydrochloride Mouthwash is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with local anesthetic and analgesic properties. The clinical pharmacology of benzydamine mouthwash is well known. Benzydamine is poorly absorbed into the blood, thus limiting systemic exposure to the drug when applied topically, but ensuring a high concentration in the injured area of ​​the mouth or throat. Therefore, it provides excellent oropharyngeal pain relief with minimal side effects.

Although benzydamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, it has a different mechanism of action than conventional NSAIDs. Benzydamine mouthwash shows analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines and reducing vascular permeability. Also, benzydamine mouthwash has a local anesthetic effect and can relieve pain immediately.

Dosage & Administration of Benostar 250 ml Mouthwash

• Check the label for directions before using  Benostar 250ml Mouthwash.
• Rinse or gargle with 1 cap of  Benostar 250ml Mouthwash for 20 to 30 seconds.
• If tingling occurs, it can be diluted with an equal volume of water.
• Repeat every 1 to 3 hours or as advised by the doctor.

Interaction of Benostar 250ml Mouthwash

Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Contraindications

Patients who are allergic (allergic) to benzydamine or other components of mouthwash should not use this preparation. Avoid eye contact. If accidentally in contact with eyes, rinse immediately with cold water.

Pregnancy & Lactation

The safety of Benostar™ (Benzydamine Hydrochloride) has not been established in pregnant patients. Risk to benefit ratio should be established if this drug is to be used in these patients.

Precautions & Warnings

• Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems or any allergies.
• This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
• Because this medication may appear in breast milk, consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
• Do not use the Maxtra Gargle Mouth Wash 120 ml mouthwash continuously for more than 7 days unless prescribed by your doctor or dentist.
• Do not swallow Maxtra Gargle Mouth Wash 120 ml and avoid touching your eyes while using it.
• Keep your lips hydrated by using proper lip care to avoid cracking and drying.
• Preferably eat sugar-free chew gums to keep mouth and throat moist.
• Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
